7 Months!!

Our little Nathan is now 7 months!  Crazy to think that we are now past the halfway point to 1 year.  Here is what Nathan is up to right now:

As I mentioned here Nathan started food one week before 7 months.  His favorite is still sweet potatoes and does much better with rice cereal now that bananas are added to them.  Has also now tried peas and prunes from my last update.  I feed him food 3 times a day but only has an ounce or two at a time.  Sometimes he will seem interested and get excited and kick his little feet and other times not so much.  I have had to try and space out the nursing from the food because if I do one too close to the other he is just not hungry.  Totally opposite from Nolan!!  Nathan has seemed to really start gaining some weight though.  At his 6 months appointment he was down to the 30%, but he has been seeming so much heavier lately.  We weighed him on the bathroom scale, which I know is not as accurate but he was up to about 19lbs.  That was an almost 3lb weight gain!   Probably helps too that I have been able to add more things back in my diet and I have done some dairy in moderation if it is cooked and not too much.  Seems to do okay if I don't overdue it.  Too much makes him extra fussy and bothers his tummy a little.  I think the extra fat in my diet has been good for both of us.

Another big for Nathan is that about 2-3 weeks ago he started rocking back and forth on his knees.  At the time had still not figured out the front army crawl, only was going backwards, but now has figured that out and can scoot across the floor.  He will also take two or tree crawl movements on his knees before going to his tummy.

He is really close to to going from a crawl position to sitting by himself.  He did it just once but usually kind of just goes to a half way sitting position still with one arm holding him up.

Still just has two teeth but chews away on everything!

Has become very vocal and I think loves to hear the sound of his voice.  :)  Trying to keep up with the other kids can make for a very noisy dinner time lately!

When we are praying at dinner he will just sit and giggle in his highchair.....which makes the other kids giggle....which makes all of us giggle.....I am sure God is smiling too!

Around our house to the kids Nathan is better known as Baby Bo, or Baby Boo, or Baby Boo Who, or Baby Bumble.  I think all those names were thought up by Alexa and it has rubbed off to everyone else.  :)

All the kids just love him....of course Mom and Dad do too.....and cheer for him and encourage him every step of the way!  We feel so blessed to have 4 awesome kids!!

Time for Food!

One week ago today Nathan tried his first food!  So far he is doing well and seems to like it.  We started him off with rice cereal and he has now also tried sweet potatoes, bananas, and carrots.  His least favorite is the rice cereal....but now does better with it when I put bananas in with it, and his favorite is sweet potatoes.  This is always a fun time and the girls have been so excited with what he is eating and always excited when he gets to try something new.  They loved when I pulled out the Baby Bullet the other day.....they still remember it from when I made Nolan's food.  Here are some pictures from the big day!

Signs of the Season

The Christmas season brings so many fun times and family memories.  The yearly Polar Express trip and decorating the tree that I already mentioned is a few, but some of the things that are not caught on camera but done each year are things like only listening to Christmas music in the car and iTunes radio, only reading Christmas books at bedtime, only watching Christmas movies for movie nights, feeling like I should set up a December gluing station to repair all the ornaments that get broken with a little boy, and at least 3 batches of homemade cocoa made each year!  Fun stuff that we all love, well not the broken ornament part, that make the season special.  Here are some things that were caught on camera throughout the month......

Happy New Year 2016!!!!

Wow!  Can't believe it is 2016!!  Ryan and the girls and I were talking and we could not believe it had been 1 year since our last year New Year's Eve celebration.  It seems like that was just a few months ago.  I know it was a baby year but wow that went fast!  We remember last year saying that at this time next year we will have a 6 month old and now here we are!
I had meant to do this post a few days ago but every time I would sit down at the computer I would find myself looking at old pictures on the computer and reminiscing from years past and then it would get too late or I would just be too tired.  I am one of those that does not like Christmas to be over and I like to hold on to it and the season as long as possible until after New Years.   I did manage to put most the decorations on the dining room table yesterday but our tree is still up and decorated, and the little trees in Ryan and mine and the girls rooms are still up.  I did manage to pack up one and a half bins so far between the last few days, I think I still have 4 to go, most of the time while still listening to Christmas music.  :)  I kind of slowly have to fade it out.  I love how I still hear Alexa and Nolan singing Christmas songs and last night at bedtime Nolan still requested Frosty the Snowman.  I always feel that kind of let down feeling when it is all over so it has been fun to look back at old pictures and fun family memories.  Fun to see where we were, and where we are now, and how we have grown!  It reminds me I am thankful I have still held on to this blog.  I know it has not been easy most the time especially since having 3 and 4.  I know blogs have fazed out for a lot of people but I love the memories my kids and Ryan and I will have someday.  I realized when looking back yesterday that I used to journal so much more and my posts now are often a one or two line and upload the pictures as fast as possible so I can be done.  Hey, I figure as a busy Mom of 4 that is about as best as I can do most days and I am just glad to post something.  We will still have the memories in the future and I will try to be better about journaling more later because I know that is fun to look back on.  So here is to another year of keeping the blog going!

Happy 2016 to anyone who still looks at it besides me!!  :)

Getting ready for New Years Eve.  This year was just going to be our family and Memaw!  Was still full of family fun, good food, games, and fireworks.
