First Day of Preschool!!

On Tuesday Kaylee had her first day of 3 year old preschool! She did so good and was not upset when we dropped her off. She said good bye and was off!! Last Thursday they had a walk-through where she could meet the teachers and see the class room and that really seemed to help. She was a little shy at first but by the end of the walk through she was already warming up. The first day was just an hour to get them used to everything and on Thursday she will go the 2 1/2 hours.

Here she is before school:

Lex is so interested in big sister!

Sorry this one is so fuzzy

Waiting to go into class

The first thing they do is wash their hands. It was so funny, the teacher said it was time to wash hands and Kaylee runs in front practically pushing one of the other little girls aside and said, "I'm first"! Now this is our child that is shy 98% of the time in new situations, and the one that usually gets pushed around by the other kids, so Ryan and I just had to laugh. I guess that's what keeps it fun, you never know what they are going to do next!

Trip to California

A few weeks ago we went to CA for the week. We got home last Monday but I am just now getting around to posting. It took a few days to get back on a schedule, Alexa did not sleep very well in her pack and play (go figure), and get unpacked and all the laundry done. It is amazing how with each child the laundry just gets so much bigger! My Aunt, uncle, cousins, and Grandparents had never met Alexa before so it was so nice we were able to come over for a visit. We had such a good time visiting with everyone and we appreciate you letting us take over your house!!

Aquarium of the Pacific

On one of the days in CA we went down to Long Beach to visit the Aquarium of the Pacific.

The whole group!

She loved the huge aquariums full of fish

Great Grandma and Alexa

Bottle break!

"Excuse Me"

It is impossible to get everyone to look at the same picture!

Fun at the Beach!

Kaylee loves the beach and playing in the sand. She loves it so much that she never forgot from when we went to Carlsbad last September. I think she asked for a good six months after going last time if we could go to the beach again. The whole car ride over to CA she kept asking "Are we going to the beach" ? It was so cute.

Here we are at Zuma beach in Malibu. This beach was so nice and not very crowded. The weather was in the 70's and beautiful!!

Alexa with Great Aunt Fay

Kaylee pouring ice cold ocean water on Uncle Jim's feet. They were both laughing so hard!

Alexa getting ready for her afternoon nap

Aunt Fay and Uncle Jim

She kept saying "where did my feet go", so Ryan made her legs in the sand.

Here we are at the beach in Santa Monica. This beach was a little more crowded but we still had fun. We were able to meet up with our friends Kristin and Jason Rodriguez from college. We had a nice lunch outside in the beautiful weather and then walked to the sand. Thanks again you guys for helping us lug our loads of stuff!!! We sure don't travel light anymore!!

Me, Kaylee, and Kristin

An afternoon at the park!

My Aunt has a little park by her house and on our last full day in CA we decided to get out and let Kaylee play. We had to enjoy the cooler weather one last time!

First Cereal

Alexa tried her first rice cereal the other day. It is so cute when they first start eating...even though I think more ends up on the bib then in the mouth! At first she loved it. Then about 3 days later she decided she did not like it so much. I kept trying but she would just scream. We tried mixing it with bananas and that did the trick. Now that is the only way she will eat it. She is just a girl that knows what she wants!

Kaylee wanted to get in on the feeding action. She was opening her mouth saying "Ahhh" trying to get Lex to open up.

Daddy's Little helper

Every time Ryan mows the lawn he has a little helper. This time I was finally able to sneak a picture from inside the house. Usually when ever Kaylee sees me she stops. Isn't she cute? I love how it is early evening and she is still in her pajamas from the night before. I am getting better but after Alexa there have been many of days she has spent in her pajamas.

4 Months Old!

Our sweet little Lex turned 4 months old on Sunday! She just gets cuter and cuter every day and we love her so much! Here is what she is up to at 4 month old:

- Her newest trick is rolling over. She started this about a week ago. She is really good at rolling from her back to her stomach but is not so good from going to her stomach from her back. She has to work a lot harder at that. She has been making her Mama so nervous at night because she keeps rolling onto her stomach. I find myself checking on her all through the night to make sure she is breathing.....I know, just a paranoid Mom!

-Still loves to smile. Her whole body just wiggles with excitement when she smiles. If she wakes up at night she is just sooo excited to see me and it makes it not so bad!

-Finally got her to sleep a little better in her crib at night!!!! I still have a few nights here and there where she is getting up somewhere between the 3-5am hour, but then other nights she will go 8 or 9 hours. At least I am finally getting some relief. We got her a humidifier for her room and that seemed to help a lot.

-Still loves to nap in her swing and I can't get her to nap in her crib. She will just scream and scream during the day in her crib. Silly girl! :)

Here are a few pictures with her 4 month sign:

Look at those cute little rolls!

I remember with Kaylee that as she got older it became harder and harder to get a picture with her looking and showing the sign. It becomes really fun to grab and chew on the sign. This is the first month where she was trying so hard to grab the sign. You can see her concentrating so hard!
Lex had her 4 month appointment today. Here are her stats:
Weight: 14 lbs 10 oz (little chunker) - 75%
Height: 24 inches- 50%
Head: 41.5 cm 50%
We got the clear to start cereal so we will probably start that in a few days. I am hoping that will help her to sleep even better at night!
