First Ballet Performance!!

Yesterday Kaylee had her 1st ballet performance!!! They did a little holiday recital and Kaylee was a snowflake. I think I was way more excited than Kaylee was for her 1st costume and to put her hair in a little bun. It brought back so many memories to me of my dance days and all the performing I did. I even got out my old bag of bobby pins to put her hair in the bun. All the little girls looked sooo cute in their costumes. Three classes performed and they all did dances to music from the Nutcracker. Kaylee loves ballet and loved being on stage. After the dress rehearsal Kaylee said she wanted to go back up there again. Hey, at least she was not scared. She now has a little break from Ballet class until January and is already saying she can't wait to go again. She will ask most days if she can go to ballet class today. So cute!!

Waiting to go on stage. She was all smiles that day!!

Thanksgiving Feast

Last Thursday Kaylee had her Thanksgiving Feast at school. I just love all the fun activities that the school does. They all looked so cute in their little hats!

I loved the cute little turkey decorations. They are made from samples of paint colors. Very clever!

Hot Chocolate Mix

So I know I normally don't post recipes but as I was mixing this up tonight I thought I would share this fun holiday treat. This was given to us by Ryan's Mom after we got married and it has become a family favorite that I make every year. I usually make it right before Thanksgiving and we have it most every night until January and then we are sick of it! This is so much better than any hot chocolate mix you can buy in the store. Kaylee even remembered it from last year and was so excited to have it tonight.

5 cups powdered milk
1 1/2 cups "Quick"
1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
3/4 cup original Coffee Mate ( the powdered stuff)

Mix together well. Use 1/3 cup mix to each coffee mug of boiling water. Top with marshmallows (Ryan's favorite), or whip cream (my favorite). Enjoy!! :))

First Cheerios!

Earlier this week we started Lex on Cheerios and Puffs. She really likes them but she is not doing so well with actually getting them to her mouth. I know it will come with more practice. Besides....why should she have to worry when she has a Mom and Big Sister so willing to help feed her. :))

I don't know what happened to the lighting on this one. You can kind of see the Cheerios all over the floor. Good thing I have someone who loves to help clean them up....and no it is not the dog....Kaylee will one by one pick them up and put them in the trash. She is such a sweet girl!

Dada

That is what Alexa is saying all the time now! On Tuesday she started saying Dada. It is so cute and she loves it when we say it back to her. We will say "say Dada" and she will answer back with the cutest "Dada" that you have ever heard. I was a little bummed that mama was not the first word but now that just means I have my work cut out for me! To make myself feel better I just tell myself that Dada must be easier for them to say! :)

7 months old!!

On Monday of this week Alexa turned 7 months old!! I say this every month but where is the time going?? Before I know it she is going to be a year!! :( Sniff sniff...

So my mind must be preoccupied right now because I am sitting here trying to think what she has done new in the last month. I should know this right away. Ahhh.... I am sure it will all come to me later as soon as I try and fall asleep. So let me think...

She is still crawling/scooting all over the place. Only much faster than the start of last month.

She sits up now....which I think I mentioned last month but she really has never been very interested in just sitting up....unlike Kaylee. Lex went from rolling all over the place to scooting all over the floor. That girl just wants to be on the go! If I sit her up she will just go down to crawling. I think when she is just sitting up she does not like it because she can't get to anything. She really only likes to sit up when she is in front of her little piano. She also never really liked the bumbo chair that much because again she is confined to one spot. She will probably sit up more when she can go from crawling to the sit up position. She has not mastered that yet!
I remember when Kaylee was six months I could sit her up and she did not move. I remember loving that age and how she did not even crawl yet. I feel like I never really had that with Lex. I think she practically crawled first. I guess the difference is that Lex has an older sister to chase after!

She loves to giggle and smile! Especially at her sister.

She is very ticklish!

She has still been a great sleeper....I sure love that one!

I think her third tooth is about to pop through. Luckily she has not been as fussy as with the first two.

Still such a joy and bright shinning light! I just love that little girl!! She always makes me smile.

So other than that I can't really think of anything new from last month.

Here are her 7 month pictures! I love how in all but one picture her mouth was wide open. I looked back at Kaylee's 7 month pictures and her mouth was open in most the pictures as well. It must be the age. :) I posted one of Kaylee at the bottom.

Here is Kaylee at 7 months with her mouth wide open too! Her hair is so much darker than Lexies hair at that age. I don't really think they look alike either??

Pumpkin Carving

The day before Halloween we carved our pumpkins. At first Kaylee was not so sure about the pumpkin goo this year but by the second pumpkin she warmed up to it!
