All things Christmas

....and loving every minute of it! The hot cocoa mix is made, the Christmas music has been playing in the car and on the holiday TV channel since the week before Thanksgiving, my house smells like a Christmas tree from our wonderful Christmas candles and wall flowers, the tree is decorated, the lights are out, stockings are hung by the chimney with care......it really is the most wonderful time of the year!

The girls love when all the Christmas toys and decorations come out. So many new fun things to take in!

I think the favorite for both is all the Christmas books. Kaylee is always so sad after every Christmas when they have to go away. I told her they would be no fun if I left them out all year.

She spends hours a day in the living room reading away!

Trying soooo hard to get the star on top of the tree. The tree is just a little too tall and her arms just a little too short. Maybe next year!

Unwrapping all the ornaments. This year I could not get them out fast enough as we have one more set of hands to put them on the tree, or try at least! :)

Our finished tree!

Our stockings hung by the chimney with care!

Meet Charlie. Yes.....he is an elf and has been sent from Santa to stay with us for the Christmas season. He hangs out at the house with us all day and every night goes back to Santa to give him a report on Kaylee and Alexa's behavior. When we wake up in the morning we have many things to do. We have to open the door on Kaylee's advent calendar in her room and read the bible verse, move the candy cane to the correct date on our other advent calendar, turn the ornament around for the correct date on the advent tree...and finally....if not done somewhere in the middle of changing advent calenders, we have to see what spot in the house Charlie came back to. Each day it is a new spot and it is so fun to search for him every morning. Kaylee knows Charlie means business and I can tell she tries to be on her best behavior. I love having "an Elf of the Shelf" because all I have to do is say "remember Charlie is watching" and the behavior issue seems to disappear! Of course I HARDLY have to remind her! ;0

Kaylee and Daddy putting up Christmas lights.

And finally.....we have so much Christmas spirit in this house that it rubbed off on our car and one afternoon it grew a red nose and antlers. Crazy!
