Let it snow, let it snow.....this time for real!

Really.....we actually had snow in Phoenix! This is only the third time in my life I have actually seen the snow fall here....without going up north... so this had to be documented. Of course it only lasted about 5 minutes before it was done and all melted, but still fun to see and let the kids play in. Yesterday when we were leaving our friends house I had just got the kids shoes and jackets on and I glanced outside and yelled "it's snowing!" We grabbed the kids and ran out front. I did not have my normal camera so these are just cell phone pics. You can't see the snow that well with the phone but you get the idea!

Poor Olivia was wearing summer attire on the coldest day of the year. We ran outside so fast not wanting to miss it so she had no time to get bundled up.

You can see the white on my car bumper

Here is a video my friend Holly took. You can see the snow falling much better on that.

Pottery Painting

At the beginning of this month we went to paint some pottery for Grandparent gifts....and of course I wanted one too!

Poor Lex, she is looking like this is pure misery. She actually did really good and did not fight us when painting her hands and feet.

Kaylee giggled the whole time with her feet. They are so ticklish!

Then she got to paint a reindeer ornament for our tree.

Our finished product- we made three of the same thing for gifts.

Kaylee's foot is in brown and Alexa's foot is right above in green. Then Alexa's hands are the two on top and Kaylee's are the two bottom hands.

What to do when it is raining outside....

......make Christmas crafts....

Lex eventually thought it would be more fun just to paint the paper plate :)

......hang up the ornaments on the tree that were painted earlier in the day.....

.....color.....

......make lemonade??.....I know, not the usual December activity but when someone give you lemons of course you have to make lemonade. :) Also when you have the 4 year old begging you to do so you can't resist!....

......and finally drink cocoa? No, it's the lemonade. At least it is in her reindeer mug!

Zoo Lights!

Last night we decided to go to zoo lights. It was kind of a last minute decision, since I was sick AGAIN the day before with a stomach bug, so we just went with the 4 of us. It was nice not being so cold this year. I remember the past few years just absolutely freezing!

Now they liked the lights, but I think they were more interested in the 3D glasses that they gave us when we came in. I really don't even know what they were for but the kids sure enjoyed playing with them.

Watching the talking giraffe

The carousel!

Lex was so excited to ride....until we went to put her on an animal. She started screaming. Luckily there was an empty bench. She was much happier riding that way!

Time to go! This is what the girls did all the way back to the car.

Playing Outside

Kaylee was let out of school early yesterday after her performance so we decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go to the park in our neighborhood. This is actually only the second time we have been over there. The first time was soon after we moved in and it was still 100 degrees and miserable. Between me and the two girls one of us has been sick for most the time since the weather has been nice. Time to get back to playing outside!

School performance

On Wednesday Kaylee had her school performance. They sang us a bunch of Christmas songs in the sanctuary. It was so nice that Kaylee was in the front row so we could actually see her! She did so good with all her songs and arm movements that go along with it!

After the singing we went back to her classroom. They sang us two more songs and gave the parents their gifts.

The teacher said for the kids to line up to sing and Lex jumped out of our arms and went to stand in the middle of the floor. She wanted to line up with the older kids and sing too!

The teacher let Lex sit behind in the rocking chair. She was happy with that!

Kaylee giving us our gift. She decorated a cross.

I will someday get both of them looking and smiling.

I see her serious look a lot lately. She really is my happy girl!

And finally when Kaylee was asked what she would like to get us for Christmas this is what she said:

Here is one of the fun songs they sang us:
