A cute distraction!

Tonight after coming in from playing outside Kaylee was trying to do anything to keep from getting ready for bed. "Look Mom, I am giving Lex a hug. Aren't we cute." At one point she even said, "look I can give Lex kisses." "Oh shoot", I say to myself. They are pretty cute. "Okay, I guess I will go get the camera." Little stinkers. The distraction worked. Now if only they would smile that good and be that cute when I am trying to take their pictures other times. :)

School Activities

Last week the little petting zoo came to Kaylee's school again. At least this year she did not almost get pooped on. We had a close call last year! :)

Kaylee with her new good friend Kyrsten

Later that night her school had a benefit night at a Pizza place. Of course we had to come out for some pizza and fun games!

Here Kaylee is with her best friend Olivia

Alexa with JulieAnne (Olivia's sister)

Alexa would not sit in her chair, (hard to do when you are strapped in a high chair but leave it to Alexa to figure out), until we took her to play the games. She kept standing up, fussing, and trying to climb out so we finally gave up since she was refusing to eat anyway. She loved the merry-go-round and had to ride it LOTS of times before she finally gave it a rest. When we were done, an hour or so later, she was finally ready to eat her cold pizza. Silly girl!

Kaylee loved it too!

An Apple kind of Day

.....or week I should say, and still going. :) We took the girls apple picking last Sunday and we kind of got carried away and came home with 20 pounds of apples!! We really did not mean to get that many. We all had a great time and the girls have really been enjoying the apples and all the fun things to make.

Since we went to the farm on the last day they were open for apple picking, most of the apples left were up high so Daddy had to get them. Us girls did not mind since lots of bees like to hang out at the bottom of the trees to eat all the apples on the ground. Us girls are not bee fans. :)

Kaylee's job was to place the apples in the boxes

Lex kept saying "apple, apple" over and over

Of course they had to eat the apples. :)

They are organic so we could eat them right off the tree. Kaylee enjoyed 4 apples, they were small and I helped some, and Lex worked on her one little apple the whole time.

When we got home we enjoyed an Apple and Sausage casserole for dinner and an apple cake served over Vanilla ice cream for Dessert! Yummy!
Kaylee with our huge box of apples. That is after already using some too!

Kaylee helping with the apple cake.
I have also made a big batch of cinnamon and sugar apples and I am about to go make an apple pie! Speaking of which I need to go start right now! Maybe tomorrow will be apple sauce and then I will see what I have left. Like I was saying it is an apple kind of week!

Happy Fall!

We made it to my favorite time of year! It starts with fall and continues through Christmas! I just got out all of our Fall/Halloween stuff and the girls were very excited.....so excited that they wanted to wear their new shirts too. :) Of course I had to get their picture. Now if only it would get out of the 100 degree weather so it would start to feel like fall!

Birthday Princess!

Happy Birthday Memaw!! Last Friday we celebrated my Mom's birthday. Kaylee was so nice to let Memaw wear her "Birthday Princess" hat. My Mom was such a good sport! We had a nice dinner followed by a yummy chocolate cake! We love you Memaw!

Strawberries and Ketchup??

Now those are both fine, but I would never think of putting them together. Lex had her own ideas today at lunch. So she has recently discovered the wonderful world of sauces to dip her food in. She had some ketchup still left on her tray from the other part of her lunch and decided it would be fun to also dip her strawberries and raspberries in the ketchup. At first Kaylee and I went "Ewww" , but then she laughed at our reaction and continued dipping her fruit in her ketchup. She thought it was the greatest thing! To each his own. She is definitely Ryan's child. Those that know him well know that he LOVES ketchup on most everything....but I think he would agree with me and Kaylee that the fruit thing is kind of gross.

Getting Settled

Well, we are all done with our move and mostly settled! We just have two boxes sitting in the office with stuff still left to hang on the walls but other then that we are doing good! We love our new neighborhood and it will be a great area to send the girls to school. Last time we moved it was just Ryan and I and I have to say it is much more difficult with two little ones. You don't even realize how much you accumulate with kids. The good part about having kids is it forced me to unpack way faster then last time. :)
